The file /etc/athena/login/Xlogin contains the resource
pword_input*echo, which can be set to True by the superuser. This causes
the password to be echoed to the screen as it is typed upon login. Perhaps this
resource should be eliminated for better security?
Also, specifying the loginName resource to xlogin displays a name in the
Username field as it's supposed to, but the remnants of a text caret can be seen
underneath the first character of the username. For example, when the xlogin
window comes up on my machine, I see "ark" in the username field with a few
black pixels underneath the "a". To fix this, the field should be completely
cleared if the loginName resource is defined.
I am running Athena release 7.4E on a VAXstation 3100.
