Coincident with upgrading my RT to 6.3A, I have experienced the following
problem several times (~12-15 times). Prior to 6.3A, I had *never* experienced
this problem. (I have been told that this has been reported on RT's under
6.2 and perhaps earlier releases.) Description:
At the "hit any key" prompt, the workstation does not respond to any
key strokes. It's not just that they're not echoed, but the workstation does
not activate. This 'lockup' state is successfully fixed by either power
off/on, or by temporarily unplugging the keyboard cable from the system
box.
If it's relevant, my workstation is essentially private, in my office.
My typical pattern is to arrive ~9 am, activate/login, and stay that way all
day, logging out anytime from 6 to 9 pm. I run two xterms, a background,
xclock, xload, and occasionally other processes.
If this is a pattern we're going to see in the field, operations will
go crazy.
