Whenever I run the elisp function server-start on a 7.4 RS/6000
(mint-chocolate-chip), it exits soon after starting, with the
message: "Server subprocess exited". I have (server-start) in my
.emacs.el; after the file gets loaded, I get the message, and
list-processes lists no processes. When I do M-x server-start, it says
"Restarting server" and shortly afterwards I get "Server subprocess
exited". Again, list-processes shows nothing.

I've tried this on a 7.4 VAXstation, and a 7.3 RS/6000, and the server
process stays alive.
