What were you trying to do?
Use the features that are present in the spiffy ftpd in the
BSD networking 2 distribution, using the ftpd installed as
/etc/athena/ftpd.
What's wrong:
/etc/athena/ftpd is based on an old, crufty ftpd rather than
on the BSD networking 2 distribution.
What should have happened:
The ftpd should have been based on the newest available ftpd.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
/mit/jik/src/ftpd contains source code for the Athenized ftpd,
with BSD networking 2's improvements grafted into it. It
appears to compile on vax, rt, decmips, rsaix and sun4
platforms.
