The update process for 7.3G on the RS/6000 nuked my /usr/local
directory, that in itself is bad, but it nuked it in a very stupid
way.  /usr/local was a sym link to /u1/local/usr/local, the sym link
still exists, but the /u1/local/usr/local doesn't exist anymore.  I
don't think the update process should every touch /usr/local and it
certainly should never remove anything off of my /u1 partition.
