In the release notes, I noticed that it says that the ezviewer started
up by OLH uses the new feature (in ezviewer) of emulating the motif
"look-and-feel" in the scrollbar and the use of a menubar instead of
menu-cards.
While I applaud the attempt to reduce the number of UI's users must deal
with (particularly in one application), I think that the decision to
switch ezviewer's look-and-feel might be premature. The reason I say
this is that while the menubar behavior almost exactly duplicates
motif's, the scrollbar leaves much to be desired in terms of
functionality and buggy-ness. Trying to send a bug-report on the
(mis)behavior of the scrollbar would be difficult -- live demonstration
is much more effective in this case. Please stop by for a demo, if you
are interested.
Presenting an apparently consistent user interface that is *not*
consistent will only lead to confusion, I fear...
