I assume you are sending this bug report about the decmips; please include
the platform and version number with all your bug reports, especially during
testing when new releases come out frequently.
You are relying on features of the Athena proved tcsh; however, your shell
is csh, which is supplied as part of Ultrix and does not have our local
hacks. For now, try starting /bin/athena/tcsh, and putting your
customizations which rely on $uid in your .tcshrc. /bin/athena/tcsh
exists on all platforms in 7.3, so you should be able to set your shell to
that if you wish when the release hits the field.
