It sounds like your workstation's configuration had been changed by hand
at some point. The default list of trusted AFS cells that a workstation
is installed with is:
athena.mit.edu
testers.athena.mit.edu
rel-eng.athena.mit.edu
net.mit.edu
sipb.mit.edu
