(1) I still want a logout button whose prompts can be customized.
The prompts can be customized, in even more ways than the original
logout button. It is just done through different resource names.
Try...
Dash*logoutButton*label: Run Away!
Dash*logoutDialog*question.label: Do you really want to be a chicken?
Dash*logoutDialog*yes.label: Yes, retreat
Dash*logoutDialog*no.label: No, die with honor
There is much more you can do... Current documentation is sparse, but
may be found in DASH(1). Default resources are in
/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Dash.
