I cd'd into my homedir and tried "detach -a" again, and it did
nothing. Turns out that the first detach, even though it didn't work,
removed my UID from the list of people with interest in the filesystem
   in /usr/tmp/attachtab?

Note: this is _not_ the standard attach. I have _not_ had a chance to
incorporate multi-user attach features (as implemented by jfc) into
attach. Doing so opens an entire can of worms which I didn't relish
getting into just now. You ran into a smallish one just now, but which
is relatively easily fixed. There are some other design problems which
are not so easily fixed, though.

In any case, since I have no idea what genus of attach is running on
achates, and since it's not a supported version of attach, I really
can't help you.
