A comment about the new login (coming from test-2000):
I tried to log in over tty, using the key sequence CTRL-P (with the
login window up). The machine correctly killed X and came up with
the "Console login requested. login:" prompt. When i started to
type in my username, thoug, it screwed up. First, the characters
I typed didn't display. Second, after two or three characters typed,
it jumped directly to the password: prompt. So, there was no way to
type in the complete username. Might want to check that out.
