Hi!
I notice that a lot of people just log in to check thier mail. Sometimes I do that
too if I have a couple of spare minutes. However after the long tedious process of
log in we find that we have no mail. Could you add in a function so that U do not
have to log in to find out if we have mail. CMU did it by letting people "finger"
prior to log in (at least that's what my friend told me). Of course this would
mean change in the structure of finger info (which by the way I find lacking in
terms whether we are logged in or not-- my friends aren't sure if I am logged in or
not so they find it difficult to "talk" to me). The finger info should thus include
the info on whether we are logged in or not and the amount of mail.
This is just an idea and it is more for convenience rather than a necessity. I hope
that U may consider my suggestion.
Please excuse my incoherence as I am rushing to start on a 10 page paper.....
