Good Morning!
The Eudora Release Team has experienced some delays in releasing Eudora 5,
and have rescheduled the release date to March 2001. The major work
remaining is the completion and testing of the Macintosh and Windows
installers, as well as the continued evaluation of Eudora with
IMAP. Installer writing has been complicated by a number of factors,
including the existence of Eudora user files in a number of locations, due
to previous Eudora installations. The goal is for these files to be moved
with the current installation. With regard to Eudora with IMAP, the team
has found a number of bugs in the functionality of Eudora with IMAP on the
Windows platform. The plan is for Information Systems to begin support for
Eudora with IMAP with the Eudora 5 release.
We plan to begin beta testing by testers outside of the team the first week
in February. A request for testers has been sent out under separate
