Good Afternoon,
The Software Release Team is proud to announce the release of Eudora 5.1
for
Windows.
Who Should Download and Why
----------------------------------------------
Because this latest version of Eudora fixes a number of bugs relevant to
the
MIT community, we recommend that anyone running Eudora as their primary
email client upgrade to this latest version of Eudora.
Notable Features and Bug Fixes
---------------------------------
-Fixed problem where Leave Mail On Server (LMOS) would get confused and
re- download all of your mail after you have exited and restarted Eudora
and then checked mail.
-Provided a workaround for people who encounter blank pages when
printing
multiple messages. You will have to use this setting: <x-Eudora-
option:DelayPrintBetweenMessages> which defaults to 0 (milliseconds) in
delay between printing messages.
-Fixed a crash that occurred in the course of Kerberos authentication.
-Drag and drop of attachments from received messages is now supported.
You do not necessarily have to have the attachment selected before you
can drag it.
-Added support to automatically remove incoming VCard (.vcf) files by
using <x- Eudora-option:DeleteAttachedVCFs=1>. The default is 0. This
should work for both POP and IMAP.
-Improved system performance when mailboxes are stored on a remote
drive. You will need to use the option: <x-Eudora-option:SpoolDirTemp=1>
which will use the temporary directory on the machine as a spot for
incoming and outgoing spool files.
-Fixed BinHex attachment corruption problem that resulted from our
mishandling filenames longer than 32 characters.
Known Issues
---------------------
Hesiod for IMAP does not function properly.
