I swear I looked at something that told me to explicitly type it without the 'd', because I remember finger-completing it to the correct spelling, and then having to change it. But I cannot find said thing, and lpadmin (for whatever CUPS manpages are worth) agrees with you on Precise, Natty, and Hardy, so *shrug*.
