Log Message:
Remove most of our build hacks in light of gcc 3.4.3. Remove the compiler
switch since we're only building on one platform. Put /usr/gcc/bin first
in the path and configure with --with-gnu-ld so that we properly pick up
gnu binutils (which will now be built before gcc).
