Many people on campus received mail claiming to be from
support@mit.edu. It requested that your password be mailed back to
the sender. This message is a fraud and an attempt to steal your
password.

DO NOT ANSWER IT!

NEVER E-MAIL ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD. IS&T will never demand that you
mail your password to anyone.

This message is an example of "phishing" where an intruder attempts
to steal personal information by sending an official looking message.

This warning has also been posted to 3DOWN <http://3down.mit.edu/>.

Thank you for staying aware of IT security issues,
