NETWORK SECURITY ANALYST
Network Security Team
Information Systems Department
Team Leader: Bob Mahoney

NETWORK SECURITY ANALYST, Network Security Team, Information Systems. 
Assist in the operation of MIT's Network Security team, including 
incident response and the implementation and promotion of the 
Institute's network security policies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Help the 
Team Leader to oversee team incident response efforts. Recruit, train 
and manage student staff. Develop and document official security 
policies and standards. Test, install, and maintain security 
infrastructure tools. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in relevant 
field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Practical experience and demonstrated knowledge of information 
security. Familiarity with risk management principles and 
implementation techniques; intruder techniques, malicious code, and 
incident response; encryption techniques and common tools preferred. 
Familiarity with a wide variety of operating systems (Linux, Solaris, 
Irix, Windows 9X/NT/2000), with expertise in one or more. Successful 
candidate will be expected to complete such training and 
certification programs as deemed relevant. Existing certification a 
plus. Good written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated 
supervisory skills preferred. Familiarity with large research 
university environment preferred.
