Last weekend (March 5th) IS&T Staff determined the identity of the
person responsible for the unauthorized modification of several Athena
quickstations and the subsequent interception of user names and
passwords. This person has admitted that he/she in fact was
responsible. We are not at liberty to disclose additional information
about the incident or this person's identity, nor can we discuss
whatever disciplinary action, if any, will be taken.
At this point we are confident that no one's private information was
compromised or abused in any way.
The internal investigation into this incident is continuing, and we
will communicate our findings as appropriate.
