Greetings,
Apple has announced a new security update (Security Update 2005-001) on
Tuesday concerning all systems running Mac OS X v10.3.7 and 10.2.8 and
Mac OS X Server v10.3.7 and 10.2.8. The details of the vulnerabilities
are documented on the Apple Support Site
(http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300770). All Mac OS X
users are strongly encouraged to install the latest security patches by
running Software Update (located under the apple menu).
The very best first line of defense against vulnerabilities is to set
the Mac OS X Software Update to automatically check for updates
frequently.
For further assistance, please contact IS&T I/T Security Support at
<security@mit.edu>, or the IS&T Computing Help Desk at x3-1101 or
<computing-help@mit.edu>.
