During the period from December 26th through January forth, the Institute will be closed for all but essential operations. During this time, the network security team will continue to respond to emergencies. However, we will have *only* emergency coverage during this time.
During the closing, we will continue to monitor the network for intrusions. Systems that have been disabled during prior attacks will be returned to the network, after appropriate recovery steps have been taken, on a time-available basis.
The incident mailing list (security@mit.edu) will be monitored during this time, and network operations staff have emergency contact information for security events.
