The cert-advisory mailing list is used to distribute copies of CERT
Advisories, Summaries, and other documents and information.

CERT Advisories are documents that provide descriptions of serious
security problems and their impact, along with instructions on how to
obtain patches or details of workarounds.

CERT Summaries call attention to the types of attacks recently being
reported to the CERT Coordination Center, as well as other noteworthy
incident and vulnerability information. Regularly scheduled CERT
Summaries are published four times a year.

Advisories sent to the CERT Advisory mailing list are for attacks and
vulnerabilities which pose a serious threat and need immediate
attention by system and network administrators. The CERT/CC also
provides information on new vulnerabilities and attacks of a less
urgent nature in Incident and Vulnerability Notes. These documents
are not released to the mailing list and are only available at the
CERT/CC web site at

     http://www.cert.org/incident_notes/
     http://www.cert.org/vul_notes/

For more information about the CERT Coordination Center, see our web
site at:
