As is now noted on 3down, I'll be upgrading the dialup.mit.edu servers
tomorrow at about 1pm. Existing connections will *not* be broken, but
new ones will go to the upgraded servers.
Something that is not mentioned is that if a user has a problem with the
new dialups, there will be some old ones around through the end of
finals. After the upgrade, you will be able to connect to them using
the name deprecated.dialup.mit.edu. As the name suggests they should
not be considered a long term solution, but rather a way to get the user
back up and running while the underlying problem is being solved. As
always, but reports with the dialups can be sent to bug-dialup@mit.edu
