1. Plans
We took inventory of our plans and game up with the following list:
Plans for 9.2:
* Solaris 9 install miniroot
* Disconnected operation (interface tool, documentation)
* Sendmail authentication (IAP)
Possibilities for 9.3:
* Install Athena software with pkgadd on Solaris
* Desupport multi-partition and 4G Suns
* Red Hat Enterprise Edition
- Pro: better hardware integration, support
- Con: may involve spending money, less community uptake
* IMAP mail archiving to replace discuss
- Ops would set up server as alternative to discuss
- Instructions for using existing IMAP clients to read archived
mail
- Possibly new command-line IMAP tool
2. Java plugin
Loading the Java plugin can be slow. We would like it to live on
local disk. One option is to put the java locker in
local-lockers.conf (though 475MB of disk is a lot); another is to
create an athena-mozilla-plugins package containing such binaries.
