It looks like, either we should work directly with Mark and Tom, or we
should send someone to one of these two meetings to make sure that the
Athena email configuration is on track to DoTheRightThing here.

Subject: e-mail futures -- outbound SMTP authentication
Date: 25 Jun 2003 11:22:43 -0400
Good Morning,
Two informal discussions about our e-mail infrastructure will be held
on the following two Tuesdays.
Tuesday, July 1st
N42 - Demo Center
3pm to 5pm
RSVP by Monday, June 30th at noon
and
Tuesday, July 15th
W92 - South Station
2pm to 4pm
RSVP by Friday, July 11th at noon
The primary topic of these meetings will be outbound SMTP
authentication. Tom Coppeto and Mark Silis will provide an overview of
our e-mail infrastructure and this new functionality which is growing
in importance to our Community. Jonathan Hunt and other colleagues
will highlight the upcoming Eudora release which supports this
functionality.
Outbound SMTP authentication is an important feature with many details
regarding its use and implementation depending upon the e-mail client
in use. This meeting will provide an open forum for information
exchange, discussion, questions and answers.
General plans are to introduce and explain this functionality within IS
during July followed by an IT-Partners presentation and discussion
prior to the upcoming Eudora release which is anticipated for August.
All of the presentations will highlight the generic requirements of
outbound SMTP authentication since our e-mail infrastructure supports a
variety of e-mail clients beyond IS' recommended clients.
Please extend this invite to interested staff within your teams and
remember to RSVP.
Regards,
Theresa
p.s. These meetings are in addition to the regularly scheduled
meetings held prior to a Eudora product release.
