I'm not yet sure that it would be helpful.
The particular case of Photoshop seems to require getting more than
just /usr/bin/lp to work. I tried trussing photoshop and couldn't
evern determine what part of the System V spooling system it wasn't
finding; it didn't run any lp-related binaries that I recognized and
it didn't open any printer configuration files that I recognized.
The Sun applications like jws might be simpler, but I couldn't get jws
to work (I sent mail to Alex) so I haven't done any useful testing
yet.
