From: Mike Barker <mbarker@MIT.EDU> To: release-team@MIT.EDU Date: Wed, 25 Oct 1995 17:43:27 EDT 1. AFS 3.3a for Solaris is in the beta locker. Email to the testers has gone out. Next, we see how well it does. We can probably put this out whenever we're ready, as it isn't really user-visible. 2. We went over old recommendations and recommend these as high utility: a. upgrade athena shell tcsh to a later version b. upgrade RCS to a newer version c. put emacs19 on the packs in parallel with emacs18 d. get the telnetd fix in place with macs e. SNMPD for SGI (i.e. cview should report SGI) f. mime for mh (note: this appears to slow down mh operation, so we may want to provide both non-mime mh and mime mh) 3. SGI systems have inadvertently been using the dev packs rather than the athena packs. Mark and Craig are going to look into the right way to correct this, but it will probably require a reinstall so we may delay fixing it for a while. 4. access_on is now available for SGI. To make it active, the SGI must be rebooted. (I've made sure the entire 4-035 cluster has been rebooted) Agenda For Tomorrow (10/26) 1. Donuts 2. Roundtable Items? See you. Mike
