Gang,

I have reviewed the document and have lots of comments.

In general, in light of our meeting yesterday, our requirements have
changed radically.

the list of candidate items of work seems vague and ill defined.

Candidate work items to be covered under this Master SOW include:
1. DCE. (I'm not sure what the issue with DCE was). They have DCE but
I don't think we want to do anything with it.
2. Web Interface (allow people to see their print jobs, allow help
desk to manage queues.)
3. Port Monitor (secure, authorized printing.)
4. Help Desk & Remote Management (Help desk needs to be able to manage
queues remotely).
5. lprng (lpr next generation) Kerberosized lpr program. How can that
be used to print through this system
6. SAP Printing (Evaluate how MIT might do that).
7. SSL (X.509 certificates). Set up support for X.509 and SSL
authentication.
8. Roles (roles are defined in a database). Use these roles to
authorize printing.
9. Charge back. Who printed what with page count and Time and Date.

1. if they don't know what we are talking about let's get it straight
3. no longer necessary if we really are going to just go the k/lpr route
4. Is this possible/desired, or is the operator interface better for them?
5. Isn't this klpr? and if so, it already does work....
6. our SAP is running on campaq and my understanding is they have not
written the code to run on compaq...will they? Do we want them to?
9. what is wrong with the accounting exits in ipm itself...is this
something different, additional? a web interface to the accounting logs?

There are several places in the document where the "global" boiler plate
changes weren't done correctly and a references to non existent parts of
the document.

The price for the port monitor if we don't write the mac code....is that a
one time charge? per year....?

What about source code other than for the windows port monitor.

What about long term maintenance/upgrades? If we don't have source code do
we have to do this again when IPM 4.0 comes out?

I will give Dave my printout of the sow with my specific comments.
