1. The 8/15 demo.
Attending were Theresa Regan, Carol Wood and Peggy McGrath. Theresa has
questions about IPM's relationship to other layers, especially SAP. A
solution lies in writing a script that will run on the IPM server under AIX
that enables IPM queues to be updated from Moira. This will lay the
groundwork for integrating IPM into the larger print infrastructure. This
also responds to one of Peter Kelley's questions. Deadline for this task is
"by the end of the project."
ACTION ITEM: Write the Script. (Rocklyn)
2. The hardware purchase. DONE (e-mail from Cecilia)
3. The software purchase. Lynne has it - all of it - under lock and key.
Will share the client software w/Rocklyn.
4. The WBS. Needs further tweaking following discussion in the meeting.
5. Kerberized client software (Rocklyn)
-Windows Port Monitor. Rocklyn will pester Dan Cogswell (IBM) until he
gets it.
-Macintoch Port Monitor. To be developed at MIT, perhaps by Brad
Thompson, more likely by Rocklyn.
-Still need to get customized web server from IBM.
6. Regarding client installer, Lynne is scheduled to meet w/SWRT on
Thursday, 8/24. Will prep for this meeting w/Rocklyn.
7. Queue names. Discussed establishing these early on and realized that
Rocklyn needs to learn more about Moira before establishing actual and
logical destination names.
8. Get experience with client software. Lynne and Rocklyn w/practice this
week with the hope of giving it to a small group of folks as soon as the
hardware arrives and is set up. Next group w/likely include Theresa and
some IS people.
