Hello Again,
I spoke with Peter a short while ago. Based on his conversation with Lynne,
he now knows enough to rule out the model 170. Our general ledger requirements
alone, will force him to purchase the model 270. His running total of the
costs associated with our IPM effort so far are leading him to the conclusion
that this effort will require a budget increase. We should also be prepared
to defend the fact that the AIX boxes required for this project are roughly
twice as expensive as the Solaris boxes used as Oracle database servers. I
am confident in our ability to justify this, but based on my conversation with
Peter, we should be aware that the issue may be raised. He is currently
waiting for the final bid to come in.
