The RFQ for RS/6000 hardware has been sent out to 3 vendors. The request
calls for (2) 44P Model 270s [Production and Test/Dev/BizCon] plus a
staging platform 44P Model 170 for Operating System support. Responses
should be in early next week. Most of the specific line item details have
been hammered out with the vendors prior to this RFQ, so my expectation is
that turnaround will be quick.
Cecilia and I have made an arrangement to get a Purchase Order cut in her
absence, so this will not be a bottleneck in the process.
