The first step in the 3820 -> 3160 forms conversion process is to
identify which forms we are currently using. This will help us not
waste a lot of time converting unused forms.
I have been collecting stats on form usage since 1993 and I have
massaged them enough so that we can start figuring this out.
I was hoping that Lynne, Art and Bill Furtado would start looking
at these lists and do what ever needs to be done to put together the
list of forms that are currently needed. I suspect that someone will
need to make a bunch of phone calls to determine if some forms are
being used.
There are two stats files. The first is a list of how many times
a form was used in a given year. The second is the list of users
who used the forms in a given year. Obviously, the second list
is huge but it will be useful for determining contacts.
I will send copies of these listings to DURLAND, MITFORM and FURT.
If anyone else wants them, I can send a copy to them as well.
It would be great if we could have this done by the end of August.
With this information, we can scope out the project better and come up
with a realistic conversion schedule. And we can get started with
testing each form at the beginning of September.
Would someone please get back to me and let me know if we can get this
done by the end of August? And if not, what a better date would be?
Also, can we assign a point person to lead this effort?
Thanks
Rachel
