I've been to last weeks technical meeting and met with Jeff Banta (last
week) regarding software pricing.
I've configured two options based on team input and have priced the
software for both.
I will writeup a rough draft of the phase rollout that were discussed
during today's meeting, with the goal of addressing the question--What are
the teams expectations of IS Support?
Lynne/Rocklyn, If you talk to Jeff don't forget to ask him about the
software licence for a test/backup server. On page 17 of the announcement,
under the ordering section, it states that we do not need to count backup
printers but does not say anything about Backup/Test servers.
This is important because it effects pricing which effects our business
model but also the forecasting working I'm doing as well.
Rocklyn, I'd also like your buy-in on the "option 2" scenario of: one
Production Server and one Backup/test server. The software pricing for
this setup would be $38,000 (this includes licence for the test/backup
server). If we don't have to pay the licence for the test/backup server
our cost would be $23,000 at list.
I will be away for the next week, I will be checking voice mail and maybe
email.
