Hi Dave,

By now you will have seen my email to IBM asking for an update on the
status of the maintenance contract. The initial contract was for
$13425 broken down as follows:

  - $3750 - Initial fee
  - $9675 - 45 hours at $215/hr

Based on my own review (via SAPweb) of PO 5700001573, we appear to
have paid IBM $6330 out of the $13425 (:

  - $3750 - Initial fee for the contract (10/25/2001)
  - $ 860 - 4 hours (1/23/2002)
  - $1720 - 8 hours (3/27/2002)

This should leave us with $7095 (33 billable hours) remaining on the
contract. I expect IBM's numbers to match these figures.

I did not put another $13425 for web interface maintenance in the
EAST budget for FY2003. This may have been because IPM was being
removed from EAST's purview, in which case it would have been a
partial oversight on my part. Of course it may also have been a
complete oversight on my part.

I suggest that we plan to spend another 12 billable hours by June 30
and then carry forward the remaining 21 billable hours. I would
recommend that the contract be kept with EAST since this would be
consistent with the currently emerging EAST business model (checkout
http://web.mit.edu/east/www/).
