Hello,
The Enterprise Printing Delivery Team needs to authorize Dave Dow, an
IBM employee, to access some of our servers in order to perform some
software maintenance for us. His predecessor, Dan Cogswell
(danutek@us.ib.com) currently uses the kerberos principal "dcogswel"
when doing work for us (we intend to keep Dan authorized for the time
being).
Dave will need both a kerberos principal and client certificates.
Would you please set this up for us? the preferred kerberos
principal would be "davedow" assuming that this is available in our
name space. Please also let me know what MIT ID number he should use
when requesting a certificate from our certificate page.

I talked to Dan about your enhancements and it appears that he
already did the Item 1 enhancement and it's up and running on your
system. Please let me know if that's what you wanted.
Regarding Item 2, we're thinking 4 hours maximum. If it's less,
we'll charge you that number. If it's more, we only charge you 4
hours.
Please let me know what you're thinking on this.
I have a question for you regarding signing into your system. I'm
going to install SSH on my machine and Dan informed me that I need a
certificate and userid/pw. Would it be okay if I just used Dan's
userid/pw and his certificate? Or would you prefer that I get my own?

On Item 1 I want to verify that it is display only. You do not want that
information retained in any way or added to the job ticket. It just shows
up as non editable fields on the screen when the user submits the job. Is
that right?

Hi Dan,
We want some additional updates made to the web interface. I realize
that you are handing this work over to another one of your
colleagues, but you haven't sent me the person's name and email
address yet. Once you do I will add him/her to the IPM-SYS list to
replace Devayani.
Here are the changes that we want:
1. Job Submission Page
We would like to add a "Job Submittor" section to this page above the
"Job Properties" section. The Job Submittor section should display
the userid (i.e. kerberos principle), name, and email address
information that you extract from the client certificate. How much
time will this require?
2. Job Listing Page
As I told you last year, we want to have indications of both print
job size and format in the listing. You have already provided the
byte count, and you also explained to me that the format was a
function of the files within a job rather than being a function of
the job itself as a whole. I would like to try the idea I mentioned
to you before: allowing the user to click on the individual print job
to get a display of the formats contained within the job. Of course
we understand that there will almost always be only one format since
our print jobs invariably contain only a single file. How much time
would be required to do this?
Please get back to me with an estimate of the time required to do
this and the name and email address of the IBM staffer who will be
taking over this work. I will also follow up by phone.
