Greetings,

When I got logged on this morning, the /var/pd filesystem was 92%
full. The bulk of this was used by the Rick Rosa jobs. After confirming
which of the retained jobs he had received and verified as acceptable, I
deleted the retained files. I was able to reduce the disk usage to
41%. Rick is still catching up from the holidays and will continue to be
submitting the very large files through the day today. Ricks individual
files are between 3% and 4% of the filesystem.

I have also confirmed with Rick that basically the really large files can
be expected in December and January annually, but there will be "some"
files throughout the year.

If GL had been scheduled to hit the queues this weekend we could have had
problems.

To review a little:

We have already increased the filesystem to 8 gig.
We have reduced the retain time to 72 hours.

We are hitting more than 80% full with basically two clients running.
We are advertising this as a service for "large" files.

Adding disk to this filesystem is permanent.
We need to find the 'right' size, but clearly it is time to think about
another increase.

Not being sure we will be meeting on Monday other than the larger meeting,
so I thought it would be prudent to send mail today requesting thoughts or
advice on finding the right next increase to the filesystem.
