Hi Lynne,
As far as I can tell from the KLP (the name of the Windows version)
web page (http://web.mit.edu/is/help/klp/), the utility only
"permits" Kerberos authentication rather than "requiring" it. As far
as I can tell, the same is true of the Macintosh version.
