Hello Jody and Peter,
I have place a draft skeleton of a Central Printing Service
Maintenance web page at the following URL:
http://web.mit.edu/east/www/central_print_maint.html
I would like for us to begin filling in the missing pieces
collaboratively, but first I want to make sure that the basic
structure is suitable for your purposes. This is my attempt to
provide ASST with the documentation that you folks need in order to
accept the Central Printing Service as a production system.
I am hoping to accomplish three basic things with this web page:
1. Provide a general overview of the system
2. Identify the major components and their key pieces
3. Provide the information needed to rebuild the system from scratch
In order to facilitate goal #3 above, I have listed what I believe to
be the major components in what I believe to be a reasonable order
for installation from scratch. The first section under each major
component ("Important Configuration Issues") is intended to answer
the questions that will arise as that component is installed. I need
your feedback before I continue.
