it is clear (to me, at least) that we are going to need a large-scale
nationwide peace movement.
if you disagree, please speak up. I want to hear it.
I feel that now, more than ever, we are presented with not only the
opportunity but also the undeniable obligation to help foster peace in
our country. With headlines like "The challenge of crushing Bin Laden"
and Bush calling up ground troops for preparation, I feel that something
must be done. And we are the ones that can do it. however, we can't do
it alone, and we can't do it unorganized. :)
I would like to have a peace meeting this weekend to talk about what we
can do at MIT, in Cambridge/Boston, and across the nation. The time is
now, and we can do this. Whether you have ideas or not, please come and
join us in uniting for peace on sunday at 2 pm.
unless i hear better suggestions, the meeting can happen at my house:
115 Auburn St. #1
Cambridge, MA
617-441-3638
(near central square: go down pearl street away from central square,
make your third left (or so) onto auburn street. it's an offwhite house
on the left. i'll tie balloons or streamers or something outside so you
can see it.)
Feel free to pass on this message.
peace be with you,
abby popp
