The MIT Social Justice Cooperative will be having a movie night Friday, September 13th at 7pm in room 2-105. We will have a choice of several videos to view. The movies are:
Z (a French film about 40'-50's Greece)
This is What Democracy Looks Like (Indymedia production of Seattle video)
Life and Debt (a documentary about Jamaica and the World Bank)
Manufacturing Consent (quasi-Chomsky biography)
This video is the second of MIT's progressive video series. We plan to show a video every week with the goal of informing MIT folk about important political, enviornmental and radical issues.
Another goal of the series is to bring progressive people at MIT together and thereby stimulate more activism on campus. We hope that this will lead to more collaboration between like minded groups such as the Social Justice Cooperative, the MIT-greens, SAVE, MIT's Amnesty International, The Thistle etc.
so come for the video, stay for the discussions to follow
