Full Bio:

Professor Anil Gupta is a professor at the Indian Institute of
Management-Ahmedabad (IIMA). His areas of research include protection of
intellectual property rights for grassroots inventions and inventors, 
ethical issues in conservation and prospecting of biodiversity, and 
setting up assistance funds for inventors.

In addition to his research, he is the founder of SRISTI, a
non-governmental organisation setup to strengthen the creativity of
grassroots inventors, innovators and ecopreneurs engaged in conserving
biodiversity and developing eco-friendly solutions to local problems.
SRISTI publishes a magazine, Honeybee that is dedicated to documenting
indigenous knowlege and giving scientific explanations for the knowledge.
The newsletter is now published in many languages. (see www.sristi.org)

Dr. Gupta has received many honours including the Pew Conservation Scholar
Award, Best Teacher Award by IIMA and by the Association of Indian
Management Schools. He is a Fellow of the Indian National
Academy of Agricultural Sciences and helped establish the National
Innovation Foundation of India.
