Solidarity Summer Workshop: Immigrant Organizing!
Wednesday, July 25, 7pm
at SEIU Local 254
11 Beacon Street, suite 200, 2nd floor
just down the street from the State House, accessible from Park Street or
Downtown Crossing T stops.
Lydia Lowe, director of the Chinese Progressive Association, will come talk
to youth activists about immigrant organizing. A founding member of the
CPA workers center, Lydia Lowe was a student activist at U Mass Boston
before becoming more involved in community and labor struggles. She will
discuss untraditional organizing methods used to overcome the challenges of
organizing in immigrant communities with specific reference to here
experience at the CPA in Boston.
At the end of the workshop we will be discussing our upcoming solidarity
actions plans!
