The local victory that I promised to mention was that MIT administration
*IS* sponsoring date-rape awareness this coming fall in new student
orientation. The only remaining issue is to make sure students
are involved as break-out group facilitators. If you would like to
train to be one of these facilitators, or help in other ways please
let me or Brice (elrond@mit.edu) know ASAP! And a big thanks to everyone
who signed petitions, worked on gathering signatures, made adds, etc.
Together, we really *can* make positive change. We *are* powerful!
The non-local victory as of yesterday is that the UC board of regents
rescinded their ban on affirmative action. Check out this following
site for the details: http://www.bamn.com/ Also, notice
the early June conference in Ann Arbor on Affirmative Action
Organizing. You need a vacation anyhow and Michigan is lovely this
time of year!
