Dear Friends,
There will be a lecture and discussion with two Cuban youths, Yanelis
Martínez Herrera and Javier Dueñas Oquendo, this Friday, April 6, 7-9:30
PM, in the West Lounge on the second floor of the Student Center. Herrera,
22, is a law student at the University of Camagüey, and Oquendo, 28,
teaches journalism at the University of Havana. They will speak in Spanish
(simultaneous English translation will be provided), and they will answer
questions afterward.
Their visit to the Boston area is sponsored in part by the local chapter
of the July 26th Coalition. They are speaking at other campuses throughout
the Northeast as part of an effort to promote contact and better
understanding between Cuban and North American youths. I hope you will be
able to join us this Friday. Please pass along this e-mail message to
other individuals and groups who may be interested; the event is free and
open to the public.
