WHY: From the folks who brought us NAFTA and the WTO, the FTAA
is the global economic system's latest strategy to further social and
ecological destruction in pursuit of greater profit and power. The FTAA
poses an unprecedented threat to working people, the environment, students
and teachers, public health, immigrants, farmers, indigenous
peoples, and communities in North, South and Central America, Canada, and
  the Caribbean.

The draft text of the agreement was completed in December and will be
discussed in April 20-22 in Quebecc City at the Third Summit of the
AMericas. The draft text has not been released to the public. The
Canadians are asking their govt to release the text by 1. APril. If it is
not released there will be action taken in Ottawa. In solidarity with the
Canadians, we are planning a Freedom for Sale Trail on 1. April.

On 20-21. APril in Quebec, there has been a call for protesting the FTAA.
There will be a solidarity action in Boston on 22. April.
