 	 F I R S T M E E T I N G
	  of the newly recognized

	SOCIAL JUSTICE COOPERATIVE!

	  Thursday, Feb.03, 1800
		in 10-280

	---------------------------

Please come to launch this new organzation and participate in orienting
its direction and activities. As some of you have seen the response to
the IAP series, we wish to continue to:

	* bring issues to campus and raise awareness
	* engage in active, respectful discussion
	* organize action for social change

At the first meeting, we will start planning the schedule for this
semester, brainstorm ideas for action, and start subcommittee groups
to address specific issues, including sexism at MIT, corporate
accountability, a progressive weekly column in the Tech, among others.
Please bring your ideas, your self, and your friends and join us in
increasing social consciousness at MIT!

	---------------------------

<peace-list@mit.edu> is a public list designated for news, events, and
announcements only. Anyone in the MIT community can add or delete
her/himself to or from the list using listmaint on Athena. Lists for
discussion, specific issues, and Cooperative members will be created
in the near future with clear rules to come. Thank you for your
involvement. If you have any questions/comments about the lists or
the Cooperative, please direct them to <auyeung@mit.edu>. Thanks!
