PLANNING MEETING FOR THREE DAY TEACH-IN/STUDENT CONFERENCE ON
GLOBALIZATION
WHEN: 5. MARCH, 2001 6 PM
WHERE: MIT DOME CAFE (4th floor of lobby 7)
WHY: 13-15. April, Rainforest Action Network and the Ruckus Society are
sending a caravan of activists and organizers to stop at MIT on their
CALL
TO ACTION TOUR. The teach-in will focus on globalization, prison
industrial complex, FTAA (the newest "free" trade agreement), sweatshop
labor, and other issues. The teach-in will also provide trainings on
issues such as facilitation,non-violence training, and organizing.
MEETING AGENDA:
Plan out logistics/teach-in schedule
Develop plans to outreach to other groups and publicize the event
TASKS:
1. Developing agenda/ finding facilitators for local slots
2. outreach to other schools
3. advertising: posters, emails, newspaper ads
4. Fundraising
5. Booking rooms
6. Getting food
7. Party/social event for Sat. night
8. Parking for bus
9. March 14 teach-in: ad in tech, postering, calling groups
10. Other
