Alternative Spring Break to Chiapas, Mexico
March 24 - April 1, 2001
This trip offers the unique opportunity to learn first hand about the
struggle for human rights, indigenous rights and economic justice in Chiapas.
* Visit indigenous communities and learn about their collective efforts for
social and economic justice.
* Learn from human rights leaders, grassroots organizers and local experts
about the critical human rigths situation in Chiapas
* Study the connection between the conflict in Chiapas, the globalization
of the Mexican economy and NAFTA
Cost: $725 plus airfare from the U.S. to Chiapas via Mexico City. This
includes all meals, accomodations, facilitation, translation and ground
transportation in Mexico. The fee also covers an orientation/training
session and extensive reading materials and action tools distributed before
and after the trip.
