For any of you out there who fears the steady erosion of our
civil liberties that has been under way, this is for you!
****Anti-Death Penalty Activists Stand Trial In Boston Friday, Dec. 8****
On Sept. 13, 2000, anti-death penalty activists staged a legal sidewalk
picket of Al Gore's $1,000/plate fundraiser at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.
The Boston Police Intelligence Unit arrested two peaceful picketers in an
unconstitutional act of preventative detention. The two, Steve Gillis and
Bob Lamothe, were charged with "trespassing" on a public sidewalk, resisting
arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer.
Come stand in solidarity in court with those falsely arrested and with the
struggle to win a New Trial and Freedom for Mumia Abu-Jamal. December 8,
2000 9:00 a.m. Boston Municipal Court (Government Center, across
from City Hall)
Peaceful protesters should not have to think twice about voicing their
views in a democracy...
