A Visual Portrait of The Reality of Daily Life
in The West Bank and Gaza Strip

"Break the Silence" is a visual portrayal of the struggles of Palestinian life
under Israeli occupation and the realities of the current strife. The
narrative is told through photographs, maps, poetry, personal eyewitness
journal accounts, and memorials honoring all the people who have died. The
display is creative, beautiful and deeply moving.
The exhibit expresses bold and honest views of the unfortunate events in the
current conflict and seeks to inform people of the complex historic and
political context in the middle-east within which the violence and injustice
has existed for over 50 years.
The exhibit has been created by the Boston Coalition for Palestinian Rights
(comprised of Arabs, Jewish Americans and many others with different
backgrounds) and is sponsored at MIT by the Arab Student Organization in
cooperation with the Alliance for Secular and Democratic South Asia, MIT
Muslim Students Association, and the Pakistani Club at MIT.
The exhibit has been successfully shown at Harvard and Copley Square in the
last few weeks. Many student groups are involved in bringing the exhibit to
several university campuses around Cambridge and Boston.
